[ICYMI] The College of Technology (CT) and the College of Education (CEd) collaboratively conducted a two-day workshop on course review for the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology and the Bachelor of Technical Vocational Technology Education on August 28 and 29, 2025, at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) DigiHub Fablab. The workshop highlighted the Colleges’ commitment to providing high-quality education to their stakeholders and emphasized the importance of systematically assessing and improving academic courses.

On Day 1, Associate Dean Abigail A. Navales of the College of Education (CED), welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of the syllabus as a foundation for learning and conducting outcomes-based assessments. The workshop session was facilitated by Dr. Genna J. Carmelo, Director of the Curriculum and Instruction Office (CIO), and Dr. Joie Cataytay, Head of the Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate (CDIO) program. Dr. Philip B. Despares, Head of the BTVEd Program, and Associate Professor Jovenel E. Bontilao, Program Head of BS in Industrial Technology, were also present. Faculty members actively participated in the workshop, identifying areas for improvement in the program courses and their strengths and weaknesses.

On Day 2, the faculty members presented their reviewed courses for both programs, which sparked meaningful discussions. Dr. Carmelo and Dr. Cataytay shared constructive feedback and valuable insights that helped refine the curriculum. Adding further significance to the activity, University President Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr. and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jeneifer C. Nueva graced the session and offered their comments and suggestions, greatly enriching the review process.

The workshop formally concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Alma Mae G. Salinas, Acting Dean of the College of Technology. She thanked the faculty for their commitment to active learning and efforts to implement and reinforce continuous improvement. Dr. Salinas emphasized the importance of ongoing program evaluation to effectively and efficiently achieve the CDIO goals.
