Opportunities met ambition when the University of Southeastern Philippines – Career Alumni Center (USeP CAC) hosted the annual Career Fair 2026 on June 4 at the Physical Education and Cultural Center (PECC), USeP TMC, Tagum Unit. The event brought together industry partners, government agencies, and graduating students, creating a dynamic platform for networking and career exploration.

USeP President Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales Jr., Chancellor Dr. Shirley S. Villanueva, and CAC Director Dr. Alma Mae G. Salinas led the opening ceremonies, joined by coordinators, staff, partner agencies, and graduating students from across academic programs.

In her welcome remarks, Chancellor Villanueva urged students to maximize the fair by engaging with employers and exploring career pathways. “Engage with our participating companies and organizations, ask questions, explore career pathways, and learn about qualifications and competencies that employers are seeking,” she emphasized.

President Gabales highlighted the transformative potential of career fairs, recalling past graduates who secured jobs through similar events. “At previous career fairs, we have witnessed graduates receive on-the-spot job offers. What started as a simple introduction became the start of a rewarding professional path,” he said. Representatives from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Tagum City Public Employment Services and Career Development Office (PESCDO) underscored the importance of collaboration between schools, employers, and government in advancing workforce development.

Following the recognition of partner agencies, the fair opened its doors to students eager to connect with recruiters. Résumés were submitted, initial screenings conducted, and career opportunities explored in an atmosphere charged with determination and optimism.

The initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by strengthening career readiness and fostering meaningful partnerships between education and industry.

More than just a recruitment event, the University Career Fair 2026 served as a vital bridge between academic preparation and professional success. As students walked through the venue carrying their résumés and aspirations, they also brought with them the confidence, skills, and values nurtured by the University. With opportunities within reach and doors beginning to open, the event reaffirmed USeP’s commitment to producing graduates who are not only job-ready but also prepared to lead, innovate, and contribute meaningfully to society.
