On 14 November 2025, leaders and representatives from key health institutions and partner barangays convened at the USeP School of Medicine for the Barangayanihan: Coordination Meeting—an important step in strengthening community health systems through collaboration and shared commitment.

Representatives from the City Health Office–Tagum, including Dr. Arnel R. Florendo, Rae Katherine Apura, and Maria Cleofe T. Flores, together with Dr. Josephine Parreñas of the Provincial Health Office–Davao del Norte, joined barangay leaders from Brgy. Liboganon (Juellyn B. Amandoron and Wida B. Ylanan) and Brgy. Madaum (Hon. Ayarah Liza P. Pacia and Aida A. Moria) to discuss community health priorities.

The activity was formally opened by USeP TMC Chancellor Dr. Shirley S. Villanueva and Dr. Victoria Guillano, Dean of the School of Medicine. Program facilitation was led by Dr. Henry Villarosa Jr., with faculty facilitators Dr. Maryrose Rendon, Dr. Vernadette Adalin, Dr. Krystel Joy Esmejarda, and Dr. Love Joy Ferraren.

Special appreciation was extended to the School of Medicine students, whose support in organizing, assisting facilitators, and collaborating with barangay teams embodied the true spirit of service. Through collaborative discussions and workshops—including stakeholder mapping and gap analysis—the group identified community health strengths, gaps, and priority needs, and collectively outlined practical next steps for Brgy. Madaum and Brgy. Liboganon.

The synergy among the CHO, PHO, barangay officials, USeP leadership, faculty, and students reaffirmed a united mission to build resilient and responsive health programs. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment: “Together, we create a healthy barangay.”
