The academic community gathered for a meaningful celebration of scholarship and intellectual rigor, highlighting the essential role of research in advancing knowledge and contributing to national development. The event brought together graduate students, faculty members, and distinguished external evaluators, all of whom shared a commitment to academic excellence and innovation. ๏ฟฝIn her welcome remarks, Dean Sonico emphasized the unifying purpose that transcends disciplinary boundaries. She noted that regardless of oneโs field of specialization, the ultimate goal remains the same, and that is to produce research that contributes meaningfully to the ever-expanding body of knowledge. It sets the tone of a deeply rooted intellectual collaboration and scholarly purpose.
Delivering the inspirational message, VPAA Nueva underscored the challenges of the research process. She said, โIn every inquiry, there is always uncertainty. Process of Trial and Error.โ While acknowledging its tedious nature, she commended the participants for their perseverance, recognizing them as part of the few who endure and succeed. Dr. Nueva highlighted consistency as a fundamental key to effective research and encouraged scholars to remain committed to their passions. She further emphasized that research is not merely an academic requirement but a transformative skill.
Providing the rationale for the event, Dr. Ariel C. Pedrano highlighted the integration of academic programs to generate knowledge aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and with the University and College Research Agenda. He reiterated the Institutionโs vision of becoming a premier research university, reminding participants of their role in achieving this collective aspiration.
The program also featured the introduction of external reactors who provided critical insights and expert evaluation of the research presentations. For the Master of Science in Biology, Dr. Cindy Grace S. Abas introduced ๐๐ป. ๐๐ธ๐พ๐ฒ๐ฎ ๐. ๐๐ช๐ท๐ช๐ฝ๐ฎ, ๐ช๐ท๐ญ ๐๐ป. ๐๐๐ต๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ท๐ฎ๐ป ๐. ๐ก๐ธ๐๐ธ, all affiliated with Holy Cross of Davao College. For the Master of Arts in Literature, Dr. Angelo Lenard E. Yu presented the panel of reactors, that included ๐๐ป. ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ต๐ ๐๐ช๐ต๐ธ๐ป๐น๐ธ๐ป๐ฝ ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ป๐ฒ๐ช-๐ฃ๐ช๐ฐ๐ช from Bukidnon State University and ๐๐ป. ๐๐พ๐ญ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐. ๐๐ช๐ต๐ช๐ฐ๐ช๐ท of Ateneo de Davao University. Meanwhile, for the Master of Science in Applied Mathematics, Dr. Ariel C. Pedrano introduced ๐๐ป. ๐๐ท๐ช๐ต๐ฎ๐ท ๐๐ช๐ต๐ท๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ป๐ธ-๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ญ๐ช๐ต of Ateneo de Davao University, alongside ๐๐ป. ๐๐ป๐ช๐ท๐ฌ๐ฒ๐ผ ๐. ๐๐ช๐ท๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ธ ๐ช๐ท๐ญ ๐๐ผ. ๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ผ ๐๐ธ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ท๐ฐ๐พ๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ธ-๐๐ช๐ป๐ท๐ฒ๐ญ๐ธ, both educators from the Department of Education.
In her closing remarks, Office of the Advanced Studies Dean ๐๐ป. ๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ฝ๐ฑ ๐. ๐๐ฎ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ป๐ธ extended her congratulations to all presenters, recognizing their efforts as a significant milestone toward completing their Advanced Studies. Dr. Deligero encouraged participants to take the next step in their academic journey and invited them to engage in thesis-to-publication initiatives. Expressing gratitude to both the researchers and the external panelists, she acknowledged their invaluable contributions to the continuous advancement of research and development.
