The accreditation survey visit last November 24-28, 2025, conducted by the AACCUP evaluation team rigorously assessed key areas including Vision, Mission, Goals, and Objectives, Faculty, Curriculum and Instruction, Support to Students, Research, Extension and Community Involvement, Library, Physical Plant and Facilities, Laboratories, and Administration. The program’s performance not only met but exceeded the standards required for Level I, reflecting its strong foundation and commitment to quality education in the humanities.

The survey team commended the BALCS program for its dynamic and interdisciplinary approach to literature and cultural studies, emphasizing its role in fostering critical thinking, cultural awareness, and engagement with local and global narratives. Particular recognition was given to the program’s efforts in integrating Mindanaoan, Indigenous, and multicultural perspectives into its curriculum.

Guided by the leadership of the program head, 𝘿𝙧. 𝘼𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙡𝙤 𝙇𝙚𝙣𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙀. 𝙔𝙪, and supported by a dedicated body of faculty: 𝘿𝙧. 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙠 𝙅𝙤𝙚𝙡 𝘾. 𝙊𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙯, 𝘿𝙧. 𝙆𝙚𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙩𝙝 𝙋. The BALCS program continues to evolve as a space for critical inquiry, creative expression, and cultural discourse. This achievement is a testament to the collective efforts of administrators, faculty members, students, and stakeholders who have worked tirelessly to uphold the program’s standards.

The success of this accreditation would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the University administration, University President 𝘿𝙧. 𝘽𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙛𝙖𝙘𝙞𝙤 𝙂. As the program moves forward, surpassing Level I Accreditation serves not only as recognition of its current achievements but also as a challenge to sustain and further elevate its academic and cultural contributions. The BALCS program remains committed to nurturing graduates who are not only scholars of literature and culture but also advocates of critical consciousness and social transformation.
