The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) and the

Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Davao del Sur formally

signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to collaborate on

capacity-building initiatives that support the implementation of

the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) among Local

Government Units (LGUs).

The MOA signing ceremony was attended by key officials from

both institutions. Representing USeP were University President

Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales Jr., Vice President for Research,

Development and Extension (VPRDE) Dr. Roger C. Montepio, Extension Division Director Dr. Roby V. Pagong, and College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Dean Dr. Marnie Grace I. Sonico.

Representing PSA were OIC Regional Director Ms. Baby Jean P.

Alid and Chief Statistical Specialist Ms. Adeline G. Batucan.

During the program, both Dr. Gabales and Ms. Alid expressed their commitment to supporting the successful implementation of the extension program and further strengthening collaboration between the two institutions.

Dr. Roel F. Ceballos, focal person of the partnership and Extension Program Leader, presented an overview of the program, highlighting its key components and its role in enhancing the capacities of LGUs in the implementation and utilization of the CBMS.

This partnership underscores the shared commitment of PSA Davao del Sur and USeP to enhancing statistical capacity, promoting data-driven decision-making, and empowering local governments through quality data and evidence-based planning. Through this collaboration, LGUs will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to maximize the use of CBMS in crafting responsive policies and development programs for their communities.
