The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, through the Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics and Master of Science in Applied Mathematics programs, successfully presented papers at the GSAS off-semester Research Public Forum last June 19, 2026.

The public forum features study proposals from across the graduate programs: Two (2) from the Master of Science in Applied Mathematics, and one (1) from the Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics.��Present in the event were the Dean of the Office of the Advanced Studies, Dr. Eveyth P. Deligero; CAS Dean, Dr. Marnie Grace I. Sonico; and GSAS Head and CAS Associate Dean, Dr. Ariel C. Pedrano, the Program Heads, Graduate School Faculty, and Students.

The event brought together graduate students, faculty members, and distinguished external evaluators, all of whom shared a commitment to academic excellence and innovation.

�In her welcome remarks, Dean Sonico emphasized the purpose of making research beyond academic requirements. She noted that regardless of one’s field of specialization, the ultimate goal is to produce research that contributes to the ever-expanding body of knowledge, fostering deep-rooted intellectual collaboration and scholarly purpose. Dr. Pedrano provided the rationale. He reiterated the Institution’s vision of becoming a premier research university, reminding participants of their role in achieving this collective aspiration beyond academic requirements. Furthermore, in her closing remarks, Dr. Deligero congratulated the presenters and thanked the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences for providing opportunities for the Graduate Students to present their studies in preparation for their Thesis Writing.

The program also featured the introduction of external reactors who provided critical insights and expert evaluation of the research presentations. For the Master of Science in Applied Mathematics, Dr. Ariel C. Pedrano introduced Dr. Mae P. Militante, alongside Mr. Cristover N. Nadal, Mr. Kim T. Dodongan, and Mr. Lawton John A. Yabes. For the Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics, Dr. Russel J. Aporbo introduced Dr. Lovely Mae R. Prieto and Mr. Darryl Imperial.

The event stood as a testament to the academic community’s enduring commitment to fostering data excellence, promoting collaborative discourse, and advancing societal progress in Life through Sustainability and Inclusion.
