Financial support takes another step toward the classroom as the University of Southeastern Philippines Tagum-Mabini Campus (USeP TMC), through the Office of Student Affairs and Services, Tagum Unit, facilitated the release of the Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) assistance to 25 student beneficiaries today at the Farmer’s Training Center, USeP TMC, Tagum Unit.
Present during the activity was Campus Accounting Unit Head Ms. Eunice May B. Alima, OSAS Tagum Unit Scholarship Coordinator Ms. Earma G. Padilla, OSAS Scholarship Tagum Unit Staff Ms. Arianne Malubay, and the 25 student beneficiaries who received the scholarship assistance.
The Tertiary Education Subsidy (TDP), implemented by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) through the Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UniFAST), provides eligible college students with a ₱7,500 subsidy each regular semester. This financial assistance is intended to help cover essential educational and everyday school expenses.
During the event, Ms. Alima congratulated the beneficiaries and reminded them to make the most of the assistance by using it responsibly to support their education. She emphasized that financial aid is not only a form of support but also an opportunity for students to stay focused on their academic goals.
Meanwhile, Ms. Padilla encouraged both the beneficiaries and their fellow students to actively seek out other scholarships and financial assistance opportunities offered by the government and partner institutions. She highlighted the importance of staying informed and taking advantage of programs designed to make higher education more accessible.
The initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by reducing financial barriers that can prevent students from pursuing and completing their higher education. By providing targeted financial assistance to eligible learners, the program fosters a more inclusive and equitable educational environment. This support enables students to remain in school and follow their aspirations.
For the 25 beneficiaries, this assistance is more than just financial relief; it is an investment in their ongoing journey toward a degree and a better future. As USeP continues to connect students with opportunities that help them stay on track, every form of support represents another step toward an education where financial limitations do not dictate how far an Agila can soar.
