Innovation with heart, technology with purpose. This is the story of BRAILLEiance, a breakthrough tool created by Ms. Sarrah Mae V. Priagola that has once again proven its brilliance on the regional stage. On September 25, 2025, during the Startup Pitching Competition: Innovation to Impact, part of the Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW) 2025 at Ayala Malls Abreeza in Davao City, BRAILLEiance emerged as Champion and also received the top honor of the Investors’ Choice Award.

This dual recognition is the latest in a growing legacy of awards and engagements for BRAILLEiance. The innovation has already earned acclaim for its simplicity, usability, and life-changing impact for the visually impaired. Crafted from wood and designed with varying sizes to enhance tactile acuity, the tool empowers early braille readers to build literacy with greater ease and confidence. Educators, families, and learners themselves have found it accessible, practical, and transformative, bridging gaps in the teaching and learning process and redefining what inclusive education can achieve.

What makes this recognition even more profound is the story of persistence and collaboration behind it. Ms. Priagola’s vision for BRAILLEiance has been nurtured by the University of Southeastern Philippines’ innovation ecosystem, through the Knowledge and Technology Transfer Division led by OIC Engr. Francis Louise C. Yap and USeP AGILab Technology Business Incubator Manager Engr. Elpedio M. Corbeta Jr. Their support has been vital in refining the innovation and amplifying its impact, ensuring that it continues to resonate with both communities and investors.

To win the Champion title in a competition showcasing the region’s brightest ideas already speaks volumes. To also capture the Investors’ Choice Award reflects confidence in its market readiness and long-term potential. These honors affirm not only the ingenuity of BRAILLEiance but also its promise to touch lives on a larger scale.

The victory of Ms. Priagola and her team is more than an academic achievement. It is a celebration of compassion-driven innovation, a testament to USeP’s culture of research excellence, and an inspiring reminder that when technology is created with inclusivity at its core, it can change the world.
