In pursuit of its mission to develop globally competent and culturally responsive educators, the College of Education (CEd) of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) successfully completed an international academic and cultural exchange program hosted by Tan Trao University (TTrU) in Hanoi, Vietnam from April 11 to 21, 2025. The initiative served as a dynamic platform for professional development, intercultural understanding, and educational collaboration.

Upon their arrival on April 11, the USeP delegation was welcomed with warm hospitality and immediately immersed in Vietnamese culture. After a brief rest and orientation, the delegation embarked on a city tour on April 12, offering a first-hand experience of local life and setting the tone for the rich experiences ahead.

The official program began on April 13 with a campus tour and an International Cultural Exchange Program at TTrU. USeP delegates actively engaged in artistic performances, traditional games, and a multicultural culinary showcase. The presentation of traditional Filipino dishes by the USeP students became a focal point of cultural appreciation and dialogue, reinforcing the power of food and festivity as tools for global connection.

Academic activities commenced on April 14, with delegates joining collaborative workshops and research presentations, encouraging intellectual exchange and mutual learning between Vietnamese and Filipino student educators. On April 16, the group observed local classroom settings, gaining valuable insights into the Vietnamese pedagogical approaches. This led to teaching demonstrations on April 17 and 18, where USeP students showcased their teaching strategies and received feedback from peers and faculty, a significant step in their journey as future educators.

Complementing the academic dimension of the program were cultural expolations. On April 15, the delegation visited the serene Na Hang Lake, followed by a cultural tour in Son Duong, Tuyen Quang Province on April 19. The program concluded with a city tour of Hanoi on April 20, where the delegation experienced the rich historical and cultural landmarks of Vietnam’s capital before departing for Davao on April 21, 2025.

Representing the College of Education, Ralph M. Lanaban, Jerushia F. Emelia, Herlyn Grace B. Rivero, Shemaiah P. Canullas, Sweet D. Andoyo, Eiseley Jena P. Eres, Cielo Beth S. Magan, Cleofe Jan L. Modo, Kize A. Calanao, Ann Vincent R. Ramos, Cheerish Honey M. Lavega, Charity B. Candol, and Dr. Ruby A. Serrano, exemplified the core values of USeP through their active participation and intercultural sensitivity. Their experiences reflect not only academic and professional growth but also the forging of international friendships and collaborative ties.

This partnership with TTrU marks a meaningful milestone in USeP’s internationalization efforts. It reinforces the University’s commitment to equipping future educators with the global perspectives and cross-cultural competencies necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving educational landscape.
