Six (6) graduate school students from the Master of Arts in Education – Early Childhood Education (MAEd-ECE) program of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) embarked on an enriching international educational tour in Taiwan on November 28, 2024. The group, led by Dr. Adora P. Zerrudo—a prominent faculty member, program head of MAEd/MEd, and Director for International Affairs at USeP— explored distinguished educational institutions showcasing diverse strengths and programs.

The tour included visits to Sheng Kung Hui Kindergarten (Leading Star Preschool), a pastor-led school known for fostering strong family-school connections through character development classes for both parents and children while supporting working parents with extended hours. They also visited Zhu Zhi Keng Bilingual Elementary School, a government-funded institution that supports Taiwan’s goal of bilingual proficiency by 2030 through its Bilingual and STEAM programs, with equal emphasis on character development and moral values. Lastly, the group toured the National Chin-Yi University of Technology, recognized for its excellence in Industry-Academia Collaboration, patents, and sustainability. This institution specializes in manufacturing technology, electrical engineering, and computer science and offers international programs such as Exchange and TEEP. During the visit, USeP was presented with potential partnership opportunities with the university.

The international educational tour provided the MAEd-ECE students with valuable insights into global early childhood education practices, innovative teaching methodologies, and meaningful interactions with educators and experts. This experience reinforced USeP’s commitment to developing globally competent educators capable of addressing the challenges and opportunities in diverse educational contexts. It also underscores the University’s dedication to internationalization, offering its students invaluable exposure to the dynamics of education within the ASEAN region and beyond.
