The College of Arts and Sciences of the University of Southeastern Philippines convened a stakeholder consultation on July 18, 2026, via Zoom to strengthen and enhance the relevance of its academic programs. All programs under the College participated in the consultation as part of its commitment to responding to the evolving demands of the times. To support the review and revision of the curricula in line with each program’s thrust and direction, five (5) breakout sessions were conducted with the invited stakeholders.

𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝟏: Bachelor of Arts in English Language major in Applied Linguistics and Master of Arts in Applied Linguistics, facilitated by their respective program heads, Assoc. Prof. Sajed S. Ingilan (BAELAL) and Dr. Russel J. Aporbo (MAAL).

𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝟐: Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Cultural Studies and Master of Arts in Literature, facilitated by the program head, Dr. Angelo Lenard Yu.

𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝟑: Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Master of Science in Applied Mathematics, facilitated by their respective program heads, Dr. Stephanie O. Espinola (BS Mathematics) and Dr. Ariel C. Pedrano (MSAM).

𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝟒: Bachelor of Statistics, facilitated by the program head, Dr. Roel F. Ceballos.

𝘽𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙎𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝟓: Bachelor of Science in Biology and Master of Science in Biology, facilitated by the program head, Dr. Cindy Grace S. Abas.

The stakeholders shared valuable insights, feedback, and recommendations grounded in real-world experience and practical perspectives to further enhance the programs of the College of Arts and Sciences. In her welcome address, 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝘿𝙧. 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙚 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙄. 𝙎𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙘𝙤 warmly welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of adapting to the rapidly changing landscape while ensuring that academic programs remain relevant, responsive, and future-ready.

In his rationale, 𝘼𝙨𝙨𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝘿𝙧. 𝘼𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙡 𝘾. 𝙋𝙚𝙙𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙤 underscored the importance of listening to, learning from, and incorporating the suggestions of the invited stakeholders, whose expertise and professional experience are vital to the continuous development of the College’s academic programs. In the closing remarks, 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙪𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙎𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡, 𝘿𝙧. 𝙀𝙫𝙚𝙮𝙩𝙝 𝙋. 𝘿𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙧𝙤 expressed her gratitude to the participants and stakeholders for their meaningful contributions and insightful recommendations. She reaffirmed the University’s steadfast commitment to developing curricula that are relevant, innovative, and responsive to the needs of industry and society.

More than a consultative activity, the stakeholder consultation served as a testament to the University and the College’s shared commitment to academic excellence, continuous improvement, and the development of programs that remain responsive to the needs of learners, industry, and the wider community.
