Dr. Roel F. Ceballos, Associate Professor and Program Head of the Bachelor of Science in Statistics at the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP), served as a resource speaker during 𝑾𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝑪𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒔 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑮𝒐𝒂𝒍𝒔 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎 organized by the Department of Statistics, 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒂𝒔 𝑫𝒊𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒈𝒐𝒓𝒐 (𝑼𝑵𝑫𝑰𝑷).
During the program, Dr. Ceballos delivered a lecture highlighting the crucial role of statistics in addressing environmental and sustainability challenges. His presentation emphasized how statistical methods and data-driven decision-making can support evidence-based governance, strengthen institutional frameworks for disaster risk reduction and natural hazard management, and inform policies that promote sustainable development. The engagement reflects the continuing collaboration between USeP and UNDIP in advancing statistical education, research, and community extension initiatives that contribute to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
