The event brought the community together under the theme \u201cIndigay 2026: Leading with Courage, Winning with Honor.\u201d The opening ceremony, held at the open field in Apokon, Tagum City, set an inspiring tone for a week of competition, unity, and pride.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Rooted in the Visayan word indigay, meaning competition among culturally diverse individuals, the event celebrates not just rivalry but also inclusivity, respect, and shared identity across academic programs.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The festivities began with a vibrant parade that brought together students, faculty, and non-teaching personnel in a unified display of colors and pride. Each group represented their respective teams: the Golden Vanguard from the Bachelor of Secondary Education, the Fiery Phoenix from the Bachelor of Elementary Education, along with Early Childhood Education and Special Needs Education, the Techno Falcons from the Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education and Information Technology, the Cyano Phyta from the College of Agriculture and Related Sciences, and the Savage Innovators from Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. Each team contributed its own distinct energy and identity to the celebration.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The ceremony was led by USeP TMC officials headed by Vice Chancellor Dr. Cesar A. Limbaga Jr., representing Chancellor Dr. Shirley S. Villanueva. Also present were CARS Dean Dr. Emily G. Pelicano, CTET Dean Dr. Mildin J. Retutas, DABE Program Head Engr. Ruel F. Tuyogon, Administrative Support Services Head Ms. Sharmie H. Cuarte, OSAS TMC Tagum Unit Coordinator Ms. Kendi B. Arsitio, OSAS TMC Mabini Unit Coordinator Mr. Roel Z. Rementizo, Program Heads, Delivery Unit Heads, and students who gathered for the annual campus event.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">In his message, Dr. Limbaga conveyed the Chancellor\u2019s call for students to embody courage and honour\u2014not only in victory but in every challenge they face. The message underscored that true success lies beyond medals, rooted instead in integrity, resilience, and respect.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">A defining moment followed as torchbearer Mr. Ronian V. Maglasang led the ceremonial torch run, igniting the cauldron and formally opening the games. The act symbolized unity, peace, and the shared spirit that binds the student body. The oath of sportsmanship, led by Ms. Ian Carla Tecson, reaffirmed the commitment to fair play, while Ms. Rizane B. Lui, SCUA Coordinator, officially declared the opening of Indigay 2026.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Momentum reached its peak during the cheerdance competition, where five teams transformed the field into a stage of synchronized power and precision. Despite the intense heat, the performers delivered electrifying routines that blended sharp choreography, daring lifts, and unwavering spirit. Each team pushed their limits, turning endurance into spectacle and passion into performance, while the crowd roared in support.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Closing the program, USeP Student Regent and USeP University Student Government President Serafin Foronda III commended the collective effort behind the successful launch\u2014recognizing the dedication of the Tagum Student Council and Mabini Student Council, as well as the unwavering support of the campus administration.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">The event reflects the strong collaboration among the Tagum Student Council, Mabini Student Council, the TMC Sports and Cultural Affairs Office, the Office of Student Affairs and Services, and Tagum Sports Association\u2014demonstrating what unified leadership and shared vision can achieve.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">This initiative aligns with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3 and 4, promoting active lifestyles and well-rounded learning, while also advancing SDG 5 and 16 through inclusivity, fairness, and sportsmanship.<\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<p dir=\"auto\">Indigay 2026 is more than just a sporting event; it serves as a powerful platform for holistic development. It champions not only physical excellence but also emphasizes the importance of teamwork, discipline, and character. As competitions take place, one message resonates throughout the campus: courage fuels every step forward, and honor defines every victory.
