An upcoming Leadership Training and Team Building<\/strong> activity will be conducted on December 11\u201312, 2025<\/strong>, as part of the ongoing project Reintegrating BAKWITS: Strengthening TATAG IP Scholars-Parents Association for Peacebuilding in Talaingod, Davao del Norte through the LIFE Model<\/em>. This initiative recognizes that long-term peacebuilding is inseparable from the economic stability and empowerment of Indigenous communities, particularly families recovering from displacement. The parents, who form the core of the TATAG IP Parents Farmer Association, play a vital role in rebuilding their livelihoods. Many of them demonstrate strong leadership potential that must be nurtured to ensure the association\u2019s continued growth even after the project concludes in July 2026. Equally important is the involvement of the IP youth, whose participation not only ensures continuity of the association\u2019s initiatives but also enriches the process through their literacy, computer skills, and fresh perspectives. Their engagement in both planning and team-building activities strengthens intergenerational collaboration and reinforces a shared commitment to unity and peace in Talaingod.<\/p>\n

Throughout this two-day training, the association aims to deepen the leadership competencies and collaborative skills of at least twenty parent-members and ten IP youth. The program will utilize a combination of interactive workshops, experiential team-building activities, and reflective sessions anchored in the LIFE Model, emphasizing participatory learning, cooperation, and cultural rootedness. These activities are designed to foster trust, enhance communication, and strengthen participants\u2019 sense of shared responsibility in advancing peacebuilding and livelihood sustainability within the community. By the end of the training, participants are expected to formulate at least one comprehensive action plan to guide the association\u2019s programs for 2026. Ultimately, this initiative seeks to strengthen relationships, empower emerging leaders, and build a more cohesive and resilient TATAG IP Scholars-Parents Association committed to sustaining peace and fostering development in Indigenous communities.<\/p>\n
