The MAEd-SNED is a graduate program that is designed to provide students with advanced academic and/or professional knowledge, skills, and higher competencies in knowledge-production, knowledge sharing, and exchange, knowledge application and utilization in the field of Inclusive and Special Education. It is theoretically-based, contains substantial research and practical components, and is informed by state-of-the-art research and/or best professional practice.
The MAEd- SNEd program has 33 units of coursework and six (6) units of thesis. It requires students to pass a comprehensive examination and a thesis or creative work which passes rigorous academic or jury review. As a final output, the students must have at least one (1) publication in a refereed journal or juried creative work in Special Education.
