As part of our 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀, the team from the Mathematics and Statistics Department successfully conducted the 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀: 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗥 𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 on July 24 and July 31, 2026.
The training was facilitated by 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗔𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗣. 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼, who shared practical knowledge and hands-on techniques in applying machine learning using R. Participating teachers from Davao City National High School actively engaged in the learning sessions, enhancing their statistical and data analytics competencies for teaching, research, and evidence-based decision-making.
Serving as activity team members and providing technical support throughout the training were the 𝗕𝗦 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀—𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗲𝗹 𝗙. 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘀, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻𝘆 𝗙. 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗶, 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗙𝗲 𝗙. 𝗟𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗼, 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹 𝗝. 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝘇— together with 𝗕𝗦 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘀𝗴𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝘆𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗱, 𝗝𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮 𝗜𝘃𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝗗𝗠 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗼, 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗹𝗼, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗭𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻. Their collective efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the sessions and contributed to a productive and engaging learning experience for all participants.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the administration and teachers of 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗼 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹, the administration of USeP, and everyone who contributed to the success of this extension initiative.
Through collaboration and service, we continue to strengthen statistical capacity and promote data-driven learning within the community.
