The College of Applied Economics (CAEc), through the Socio-Economic Research and Data Analytics Center (SERDAC) in Mindanao, successfully conducted a four-day training titled “Training on Adaptive Management on PRDP Monitoring and Evaluation.” The activity was organized by the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) Unit of the DA-PRDP Project Support Office Mindanao and was held on 14–17 October 2025 at the Island Garden City of Samal (IGACOS), Davao del Norte.

The training was led by Atty. Karlo Martin C. Caramugan, EnP, Extension Head of the College of Applied Economics, together with Atty. Jesus A. Villardo III, Director of the Legal Aid Center of the School of Law, who both served as resource speakers for this important activity.

The Training on Adaptive Management for PRDP M&E (Monitoring and Evaluation) was designed to ensure the success and sustainability of the Philippine Rural Development Program (PRDP). Adaptive management provides a vital framework for navigating the complexities of large-scale rural development projects. The training aimed to equip PRDP M&E staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to transition from traditional, rigid M&E approaches to a more flexible, learning-oriented framework—enabling the program to proactively adjust strategies based on real-time data and evolving ground realities.

This initiative reinforces USeP’s commitment to extension service and research collaboration, solidifying the University’s role as a key partner in promoting evidence-based rural development and policymaking across Mindanao.
